These are links to some
of the sites I’ve found useful, either as a writer or
as a publisher.
My personal website: www.hazelmarymartell.co.uk
The Self Publishing Magazine – has articles on self-publishing
and also reviews self-published books: www.troubador.co.uk/selfpublishingmagazine
Society of Authors – has guides on many writing-related
topics, including self-publishing and Print on Demand, which
are also available to non-members: www.societyofauthors.net
Independent Publishers Guild – has on-line articles
on publishing which are accessible to non-members: www.ipg.uk.com
Freelance Market News – eleven issues a year, delivered
to your door and full of market suggestions for short stories
and articles for all age groups. Visit the website at www.freelancemarketnews.com
Writers’ News – a monthly magazine, delivered
to your door and full of useful news for all kinds of writers.
Visit the website at www.writersnews.co.uk
Writers’ Forum – another monthly magazine for
writers, delivered to your door or available from newsagents.
Full of helpful articles, as well as news of markets and competitions,
it is also very supportive of self-publishers. Visit the website
at www.writers-forum.com
The Annual Writers’ Conference at Winchester –
usually held over the last weekend in June and certainly my
favourite! Visit the website at www.writersconference.co.uk
York Publishing Services – the printing company I used
for The Dreamchasers. I chose them because they were happy
for me to do as much or as little as I wanted towards the
finished product. They also have a really helpful website
at www.yps-publishing.co.uk
Drystone Radio – an online radio station for the Yorkshire
Dales. There is an interview with me on their website at www.drystoneradio.co.uk
Flair News – six copies
a year, available by subscription and the most positive approach
to writing you’ll ever come across! Visit their website
at www.flair4words.co.uk
and check out their other services for writers.
And, finally, Fudgie Design without which you wouldn’t
be reading this! Visit their website at www.design.fudgie.co.uk |
